Burned tree in Tasmanian Clearcut
Near the Florentine Valley, Mount Wedge and Lake Gordon, these burned trees are leftovers from a two year old clearcut under the reign of Forestry Tasmania, who permits companies to cut these forests for wood pulp, then burn the leftovers, drops 1080 poison to kill the wildlife. Plantation forest or "native forest is then grown its place. Forest activists in Tasmania maintain that the government's forestry policy is destroying the environment and that 90% of Tasmania's old growth forest is already gone.
