Tasmanian Devil showing its jaw gape

Captive Tasmanian Devils at Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park, near Taranna, Tasmania, Australia demonstrating its powerful jaws. This is a "fear yawn" showing fear or nervousness, or just showing off its teeth in a "don't mess with me" way. This one wasn't making sound - just gaping! The jaw is four times more powerful than a dog the same size (Jack Russell) and a Tasmanian Devil could easily eat every bone in the human body! ....Most of the devils I photographed over the last week were either recovering from injuries, or orphans, seperated from parents suffering from the Tasmanian Devil Facial Tumor Disease, which is a contagious cancer. Many of these orphans or recovered will be released into the wild.
