Norwegian Whaling ship

The Kato, Norwegian Whaling ship and fishing vessel after catching a minke whale off the coast of Svalbard. Whale hunting is banned by the International Whaling Comission, but Norway, which is a member, registered an objection to the ban, and continues to hunt. In 2010, when this photograph was made, Norway hunted 468 minke whales. In 2017, Norway plans to hunt 999 whales, which has caused international outcry.
