1000 Grues per les llibertats - 1000 paper cranes being made in Placa Octavia, Sant Cugat, to support demands to release former Catalan foreign minister Raul Romeva, who is currently being held without trial in a Spanish prison, in Estremera, for his part in the Oct 1 2017 Catalan independence referendum. Romeva is a resident of Sant Cugat del Valles. Japanese legend promises that those who fold a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish - in this case, the release.
