Caixaforum, Barcelona

Caixaforum, based in the modernist factory building of Casimir Casaramona, Barcelona, designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Construction started in 1909, it opened in 2012, and closed down in 1920. The building lay idle and semi derelict, being use as stables and a shooting range by police during the Spanish Civil War. It was listed as a Historical Monument of National Interest in 1976 and finally restored in the 1990s, becoming Caixaforum, the Social and Arts Centre of La Caixa Foundation.
