Barentsburg is a Russian coal mining town in the Norwegian Arctic Archipelego of Svalbard, about 1300km from the North Pole. Once home to about 2000 miners and their families, less than 500 people now live here. I spent 97 minutes in Barentsburg in July 2010 - and this is what I photographed.
